Ganesh Utsav is one of the most loved and celebrated festivals in Maharashtra, symbolizing devotion, unity, and joy. While people welcome Lord Ganesha with grandeur, it is also a time to reflect on our responsibility towards society. Keeping this spirit alive, Shivaji Shelar Memorial Foundation, a socially committed NGO in Talegaon Dabhade, organized a noble Annadan Seva (Food Donation Program) for 101 underprivileged people in Talegaon Dabhade and Pimpri Chinchwad during Ganesh Utsav 2025.
This heartfelt initiative not only satisfied hunger but also spread love, care, and dignity—reminding everyone that true devotion lies in serving humanity.
The Spirit of Ganesh Utsav and Annadan
Ganesh Utsav is celebrated with devotion and festivity across Maharashtra. From installing idols to offering sweets like modaks, every ritual carries deep meaning. Among these rituals, Annadan (donation of food) holds a special place in Indian culture. In Hindu philosophy, feeding the hungry is considered one of the greatest acts of service.
By serving food to the economically weaker sections and socially neglected groups, the Foundation highlighted the importance of compassion and inclusivity during festivals. This Annadan Seva in Pimpri Chinchwad and Talegaon Dabhade brought together volunteers and community members who worked hand-in-hand to spread joy among the needy.
